Florid - Service Users Website

Florid Logo

FLORID is a website run by mental health service users for people who have experienced mental health difficulties. It’s a website which aims to bring together information relating to mental health in a way that is user-friendly and simple.

Florid's mission is to provide a place where anyone who has ever been affected by mental health issues can feel safe, and can share experiences and opinions without fear of judgement or criticism.

The website is a place where service users can take back the power in regards to the information they may need and want.

It contains a comprehensive directory of statutory and voluntary mental health services, an accessible directory of medications, a forum for service users to talk to each other, get support and share information and ideas.

There is also an area for carers and parents to find information about services in their areas.

Florid has also provided employment and training opportunities for service users who are interested in being trained in IT skills, the running of a website and web moderating.

The project is funded by East London NHS Foundation Trust.
