Physiotherapy Services
Our Physiotherapy Services employ a range of professional staff including physiotherapists, cardiac rehabilitation nurses, wheelchair service therapists, clinical psychologists, rehabilitation specialists, surgical appliance technicians as well as clinical assistants/technicians and an administrative team. Our staff work in clinical service teams and as members of different multi-disciplinary care groups. These are based within a variety of specialist healthcare areas in hospital and community settings.
Our overall aim is to provide our patients/service users with the most appropriate rehabilitative care, goods and services to help patients achieve their movement, mobility, and function. We also focus on health promotion and education of patients/service users.
We strive to improve and develop our services in response to best practice and user feedback. Developments have included stroke exercise groups, injection clinics (joint pain), Women’s Health service, Pulmonary rehabilitation (lung conditions management), wheelchair drop-in clinics, self referrals, a chronic pain service, sports injury, and outreach clinics. We also work closely with local leisure centres and sports clubs.
