Community paediatrics
We are a team of specialist doctors working with children. We have expertise in paediatrics, children’s public health, child development and disabilities, and safeguarding children.
We work closely with the local authority Children and Young People Service and have close links with local hospital paediatricians and those working from specialist centres such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal London Hospital.
We provide paediatric assessments for children with developmental concerns, or where there are social concerns or suspected abuse. We also provide medical advice on children with special education needs or with exceptional social needs. We have an expertise in childhood immunisations and child health promotion. The paediatricians in the team develop our practice in line with evidence from the latest medical research and in accordance with local needs.
The community paediatricians work from a number of clinics around Newham.
You can access our service by referral from a GP or other health professional such as a community nurse, school nurse, health visitor or therapist.
