Community Children's Nursing Team
The Community Children's Nursing Team (CCNT) provides a range of services for children who live in Newham and who require nursing support at home.
The CCNT is a team of specialist children's nurses with the knowledge, skills and expertise to offer families the choice of safely caring for their sick child within their own home, school or nursery. The service provides:
- Technical skilled nursing care If your child or if you are a young person who requires a specific technical nursing procedure (eg, intravenous medication, subcutaneous medications, blood taking or wound care)
- Education If your child or if you are a young person or a parent/carer who requires education to enable you to continue supporting continuing treatment, care needs or therapies (e.g. use of nebulisers/inhalers in asthma, artificial feeding routes, suctioning, oxygen therapy, administration routes for medication, tracheostomy care)
Referrals can be made to this service by any health professional working with a family.
The referral must satisfy specific criteria, a copy of which together with the referral form can be obtained from the administrative assistant (Monday - Friday 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.) at the contact details below:
