Social Inclusion

Our Approach to Social Inclusion

Our approach is based on working in partnership with people who use our services, their family, friends and carers, to help them achieve their aspirations and as normal a life as possible. We base this on both national guidance and examples of good practice and a local approach with local people who use our services. We see social inclusion as being everyone’s job.

We consider the things which make a normal life to be:

  • Somewhere safe to live
  • Money
  • Something useful to do
  • Friends and family
  • Good mental and physical health

What part does the Trust play in achieving these outcomes?

We will work with local people, people who use our services, their carers and friends to support and promote:

  • Recovery
  • Employment
  • Training and Education Opportunities
  • Somewhere safe to live
  • Access to good Physical Health Care
  • Community Participation and Social Networks
  • Giving people choice and control

We will also and very importantly challenge stigma and discrimination.
